PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Talbert House operates one female halfway house and two male halfway houses in Cincinnati. These facilities offer a wide variety of services to offenders including:
  • Corrective thinking.
  • Chemical dependency education and treatment, ODADAS certified.
  • Mental Health Transition Program (formerly SAMI)
  • Anger management.
  • Job readiness – GED classes, budgeting and money management, resumes and interview techniques.
  • Personal hygiene/health maintenance education.
  • Individual sessions with clinical service providers.
  • Case Management services.
  • Case conferences with referral sources.
  • Scheduled recreation activities.
  • AA/NA (on-site).
  • Drug and alcohol random testing.
  • Monitoring of job and education activities outside of facility.
  • Gender-responsive programming for women.
  • Life skills (including AIDS awareness).
  • Relapse Prevention groups.
  • Supervised family visiting hours.
  • Family education sessions.
  • Electronic Monitoring/home incarceration.

    ADMISSIONS REJECTIONS
    • Adult male and female felony offenders; Male and female Transitional Control; DUI/IPP
    • Meets admission criteria
    • Arson conviction; Sex offense
    • Previous program failure where offender was assaultive/riotous (very disruptive)
    • Mental health problems/mental retardation indicating offender not capable of program participation due to lack of specialized services in area
    • History of repeated violence supporting that, even when sober, the person would be assaultive and a danger to the community
